The sinking of the Korean ferry Sewol, in which more than 300 passengers and crew lost their lives, became the topic for beautiful heart-touching documentaries over the years. However most of those documentaries co concentrated on the attribution of guilt or the cause of the incident based on interviews with the people involved, while In the Absence focuses entirely on the event itself, with video and sound recordings made on the day in question.
