Due to COVID-19 Pandemic the 18th Edition of DocedgeKolkata, Asian Forum for Documentary will be held virtually, in May 2021.

The forum will be held virtually in 3 phases over a period of one month

Phase I | Project Development Workshop/ Mentoring | May 7>12

Pre-pitch Mentoring will include Narrative Labs, Visual Labs and One-on-One sessions with the tutors.

Phase II | Pitch Presentation | May 22>23

The participants will need to record and submit a 7-min Pitch Presentation including visual clip/trailer Link which will be shared with the decision-makers for viewing. The offline pitch will be followed by feedback and question and answer sessions live.

Phase III | Online Business Meetings | May 24>27

DocedgeKolkata will schedule business meetings with the decision-makers based on their availability and interests in the respective projects.

The DRI team will circulate the itinerary of meetings to participants and Decision-makers. The meetings (20 minutes each) will be held over a period of three to four days.


All filmmakers, producers with a project whose country of production falls in any one of the Asian countries are eligible to apply for DocedgeKolkata 2021.

Any aspiring filmmaker or producer from an Asian country who doesn’t have a project can apply as an Observer to attend workshops and sessions.

Application Criteria

The proposed project may be of any subject or theme. We are looking for original stories with innovative creative treatment and artistic vision. Experienced and emerging filmmakers who are interested in cross-cultural collaboration are encouraged to apply. The selection of projects will be based on artistic merit and international potential for a coproduction.

Number of projects to be selected:

A maximum of 24 projects including awarded projects from other forums.
