DOCEDGEKOLKATA, Asian Forum for Documentary
DocedgeKolkata, Asian Forum for Documentary is an international documentary event attended by some of the most noted documentary makers from across the globe along with foundations and broadcasters. DocedgeKolkata is the most successful documentary platform in India to create co-production opportunities for creative independent filmmakers/artists passionate to produce socially relevant intriguing stories from real life.

Documentor is a unique workshop initiative of DRI to evoke quality discourses among the young filmmakers and students of media institutions. The 4-day interactive workshop intends to create an awareness of and exposition to the high quality artistic content of actuality storytelling. The programme is taking place in small towns and underprivileged regions where storytelling ecology is completely intimidated by the mainstream commercialism. DRI with local partner institutions manages the workshops with screening, filmmakers’ interactions, analyses of content, creative approaches and artistic styles to advance the appreciation and skill of documentary storytelling in south Asian region.

Mind for Stories
MFS is initiated to bring path-breaking filmmakers – directors, cinematographer sound designers, editors and creative producers to have an informal interaction face to face with emerging storytellers and media students. This is an initiative to create opportunities for higher level of dialogical exchange among storytellers. The series is designed to invite masters for informal sessions to reflect upon their vision and intriguing aspects assigned to their creative world.

DRI was finally able to start the International Masterclass series, last year. The session took place in Jaipur in December 2018, in association with TOSS, Jaipur.
