An award-winning German filmmaker and cinematographer, Philipp Griess is known for transforming some of the world’s most remote regions into compelling cinematic stories. His work has been broadcast on flagship science and documentary platforms including PBS NOVA, Terra X, and ARTE, as well as international platforms such as RTL+, Amazon, and HBO.

Born in Germany’s Black Forest, he studied History in Berlin before specialising in documentary cinematography at the ZeLIG Film School in Bolzano, Italy, where he developed his distinctive visual approach to nonfiction storytelling.
