Monica Lazurean-Gorgan | Founder / Producer | Manifest Film | Romania
Monica Lazurean-Gorgan is a producer, filmmaker, and a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (OSCARS). She produced Acasă, My Home, directed by Radu Ciorniciuc, which won the Cinematography Award at the Sundance Film Festival in 2020 and received over 40 international awards. She also produced Tata by Lina Vdovii and Radu Ciorniciuc, selected at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2024 and awarded Best Documentary at Trieste in 2025, and Bright Future by Andra MacMasters, presented at International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam in 2024.
As a director, she helmed Wood, which premiered at CPH:DOX and Hot Docs in 2020, and A Mere Breath, which premiered at Visions du Réel and won Best Documentary at the Sarajevo Film Festival in 2016, along with 10 international awards.
She also produced Between Revolutions by Vlad Petri, winner of the FIPRESCI Award at the Berlinale Forum in 2023, and was delegate producer for the Golden Bear–winning Touch Me Not by Adina Pintilie. Her films have been widely screened internationally and are available on platforms such as MUBI and Amazon.

Its films have been selected and honoured at major international festivals including the Sundance Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival, International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, CPH:DOX, and the Toronto International Film Festival.
