Sarvnik Kaur is a Mumbai-based documentary filmmaker whose work explores the quiet tremors beneath ordinary lives.

Working in an immersive observational style shaped by long-term relationships with her protagonists, she reveals how personal choices, political realities, and ecological transformations intersect in intimate and unexpected ways.

Her most recent feature, Against the Tide, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2023 and won the Special Jury Award for Verité Filmmaking. The film went on to receive multiple international honors and broadcast globally, with a theatrical release in New York, Melbourne, and Spain. Her debut feature, Soz – A Ballad of Maladies, won the 64th President of India’s National Award and screened widely across India.

Across her films, Sarvnik is committed to long-duration, ethics-led storytelling that centers dignity, reciprocity, and shared authorship. She is currently developing her next feature, continuing her exploration of land, identity, climate, and the fragile architectures that hold communities together.
