Dorothee Wenner

Dorothee Wenner (1961) is a freelanced filmmaker, curator and writer based in Berlin. Her latest film was the hybrid documentary “DramaConsult” (2012). Since 1990, she is member of the selection committee for the International Forum of New Cinema/Berlinale and works as the delegate for the festival to India and Subsahara Africa. Since inception in 2004, she has been member of the AMAA-jury – the African Movie Academy in Lagos. In 2009, she joined the team of the Dubai International Film Festival as programmer.

Dorothee Wenner was born in 1961 and has lived and worked in Berlin since 1988 as a freelance filmmaker, writer and curator. She has been on the selection committee of the International Forum of New Cinema since 1990 and serves as the Berlinale’s Delegate for India and sub-Saharan Africa. In 2004/5 she curated the EU-funded project “Import Export: Cultural Transfer between India and Germany, Austria.” She worked as the director of the Berlinale Talent Campus 2006 / 2008. Her documentary films include Hollywood Killed Me (1988), Germany-Outside In (Unser Ausland, 2002), Star Biz (2005), Shanti Plus (2006) and Peace Mission (2008); Drama.Consult (2012); Family Affairs/Living Archive (2012/13).
