Audrius Stonys is one of the most prominent filmmakers from the Baltic region. Known for his distinctive cinematic style his films have received numerous international awards. Among them are – Audience Award in Nyon, Grand Prix in Split, and prizes in Bornholm, Florence, Gyor, Neu Brandenburg, Oberhausen, Bilbao and San Francisco. In 1992, his film ‘Earth of the Blind’ was recognised by the European Film Academy as the Best European Documentary Film of the Year and was conferred with the Felix Award.

Audrius has conducted lectures and masterclasses in Kolkata, Sao Paulo, Seoul, Tokyo, Berkeley, Stanford, Moscow, Belgrade, Barcelona, San Francisco, Carpi Modena and Paris. He has presented his films in Switzerland, Russia, France, Israel, Czech Republic, Germany, USA, Belgium, Spain, Turkey, Colombia, Uruguay, and Italy.

The 2018 film ‘Bridges of Time’ was selected as the Lithuanian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards, which Stonys co-directed with Kristine Briede. Stonys is also a member of the European Documentary Network.
