Ashley Burgess is the Head of Special Projects and International Convener at the Griffith Film School. He leads the school’s international co-productions and a range of award-winning Filmmaking Bootcamps in Thailand, India, Vanuatu, Japan and Indonesia as well as the Australian Outback.

He is a specialist cross-cultural filmmaker who has directed feature films, documentaries and radio dramas throughout Asia and the Pacific. As a Showrunner and Head of Production with the BBC in Burma and Thailand his acclaimed programs regularly sustained prime time audiences of over ten million. Ashley began his career in stunt work, and has since worked as a journalist, cinematographer, editor and sound designer before focusing on writing and directing. Ashley has degrees in Film, Philosophy and Entrepreneurship.
