Galia Bador has been serving as the director of Docaviv International Documentary Film Festival since 2009. She was the Director of the Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival in 1996, Initiator & Director of the Shorts Film Festival in 1997, Producer of the Ramallah-Tel Aviv Int’l Human Rights Film Festival in 2000 and CEO of the Israeli Documentary Filmmakers’ Forum from 2005-2008. Bador lectured on Film & Video Media at the Champlain College in Israel (1999-2004) and Production Studies at Camera Obscura Film School (2000-2005).

She has produced award-winning films like ’Jerusalem is proud to present’ (directed by Nitzan Giladi and Winner of Human Rights Award) and ’The Debt of Aharon Cohen’ (directed by Amalia Margolin and winner of BANF Canada in 1999) as well as other films and TV series.

Docaviv is the only festival in Israel dedicated to documentary films, and is considered as one of the leading documentary festivals worldwide. The festival screens over 100 new documentaries from Israel and around the world. This non-profit organization provides a wide variety of unique stages throughout Israel for documentary filmmakers and their work, exposing new audiences to the field, and encouraging the making of creative documentary films that examine and expand the boundaries of the genre.
