Ashley Burgess is a specialist cross cultural filmmaker with degrees in Film, Philosophy and Entrepreneurship. He is now the Head of Special Projects at the Griffith Film School in Brisbane, Australia. He leads the school’s international co-productions and a range of award winning cross-cultural Filmmaking Bootcamps, which he has run in Thailand, India, Vanuatu, Indonesia and the Australian Outback.
Ashley has directed feature films, documentaries and radio dramas in seven languages and eight countries. As a Showrunner and Head of Production with the BBC in Burma and Thailand, his acclaimed programs regularly sustained prime time audiences of over ten million. Ashley began his career in stunt work, and has since worked as a journalist, cinematographer, editor and sound designer before finding his niche as a writer/director.
