Louay Khraish Louay Khraish | Associate Director | Film Independent | USA Louay Khraish is the Associate Director of International Programs at Film Independent, overseeing a diverse slate of international programs with global partners. He is the writer and producer of the feature film Arzé. He was story consultant on the award-winning, Lebanese feature film, Solitaire and the Canadian film, Peace by Chocolate.

In 2018, he produced the Global Media Makers Summit in Cairo and the educational web series, Film Arabi, which equips aspiring Arab filmmakers with the tools to tell their own stories.

Louay was Director of Digital Media at Baynounah Media Group in Abu Dhabi, developing content for the digital platforms. He has taught media and film courses at several universities in the US and at the American University in Dubai. He earned his master’s in Media Studies from the New School in New York. During the pursuit of his Ph.D. in the Humanities, earned from the University of Texas at Dallas, he focused on creative writing and feminine voices in film and literature. Born in Lebanon and raised in Beirut and Dallas, Louay is fluent in English, Arabic and French.
