Jane Mote | Editorial Consultant| The Whickers | UK Jane Mote is an Editorial Consultant at The Whickers documentary film fund that supports and nurtures first-time directors from across the world.

She also mentors documentary makers at story labs including Docs By The Sea (Indonesia), MyDocs (Malaysia), TokyoDocs (Japan), AIDC (Australia) and Dhaka Doclab (Bangladesh).

She is a seasoned journalist and former head of BBC London, who worked in senior roles in television for decades, including as the UK MD for Al Gore’s documentary channel Current TV. She is now the Director of Beechtobeach production company, where she recently produced and co-directed My Bones Are Woven, and she trains people to make professional films on their smartphones.

The Whickers
The Whickers were established in 2015 to fund and recognise original and innovative documentary. We seek to use the generous legacy of our namesake, pioneering broadcaster Alan Whicker, to support emerging film and audio documentary-makers in the funding and production of director led programmes.
