The 9th edition of DocedgeKolkata will take
place from 9 to 15 January 2012 in Kolkata,
India. The forum focuses on the very best of intensive training and mentoring of
documentary filmmakers working on their new projects and looking for further
guidance, insight and intending to explore additional funding. The forum
includes intensive training, Masterclasses and Pitching of projects to an
international panel consisting of broadcasters, producers and foundations.
The sessions are designed to be useful for creative development of individual
projects, where filmmakers, producers, participants and tutors work together for
potentially engaging human stories and inviting debates to widen the artistic
span of conceived narratives.
DocedgeKolkata is essentially an open platform for valuable networking for
future co-production collaborations and reach-out to the cross-cultural audience
by transforming and sharing new aesthetics, skill, knowledge and professional
expertise. The forum has been transforming documentary into an independent
creative endeavor with strong artistic enquiry generating a high quality
socially relevant discourses on people, culture, spaces and ways of life in the
subcontinent.
Apart from selected participants developing and pitching projects, the
community includes observers and special guests who all participate in the
contributory discussions on the project improvement.
